Such a "Rock" Star

This has to be one of the fun-est boy photoshoots I have done! Not only did I get to spend 4 hours with one of my bestest friends I got to spend time with Daniel who is a whole -lotta-adorable.. he was pretty much obsessed with rocks (hence he's a "rock"star)during the photoshoot, which really made me laugh. I love it when photos make me happy! :)

A fabulously lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Baby Mackenzie was so much fun to photograph. Her mother and her are absolutely beautiful!! She was such a good baby throughout the whole photoshoot never cried and just went along with whatever her mom and I wanted to do with her. By the way, I love that photography allows me to say words like fabulous and lovely about 1,000 times a day, because words like that make you feel fabulous and lovely.

the smell of ribs a glass of tea and a groovy song

The smell of bbq ribs a big glass of ice tea and this groovy song is really making me happy right now.

This photoshoot below was so fabulously fun! Brooklyn is such a cutie -she sure knows how to strut her stuff when she's in front of the camera. Here's a couple from the shoot.

a big cupcake would do just nicely

It has been a rough day starting at 7 am. those darn dogs got out...again. Orlie and I spent almost 2 hours laying cement around the fence (ok Orlie did i just fetched the water to pour in the cement) so they couldn't dig anymore.. but what do you know... they found the ONE place where we didn't put cement and got out. I got them and put them back in the backyard - lay about 8 bricks down and cover up the hole really good.. so i though. I come home from a grocery trip to find my dog tied to the tree in the frong yard...Thank God for nice neighbors.

The house is a mess, the kids got out of school early which just in itself throws me way off schedule and we had a party at Peter Piper.. don't you just love kids parties at Peter Piper...(and it just so happens MY kid now wants his party there..great!)

I think a cupcake would have made this day so much better. :)
well I suppose this is the very reason I never started a blog.. its been a while since I've blogged on here. .. sorta forgot about it. Anyhow let me catch up...

Bananas in the Bathtub

Ok so first off I must admit I had to look up how to spell banana - do you ever do that? Like the easiest words are the hardest to spell or if you keep saying a word over and over you start to wonder if thats how your really suppose to say it? Hmm perhaps its just me...
This blog just might contain a little to much information BUT if your a mom you might finish reading this and say oh that happened to me- I hate when that happens.. so continue reading at your own discretion lol. So Zachy woke up this morning with diarrhea - not just regular diarrhea (cause you know there is "regular" diarrhea haha) but watery! All morning I have been trying to get him to eat a banana. I was always told that if you have diarrhea bananas are good for your stomach. I dunno perhaps its the white mans version of the whole rubbing of the raw egg on your forehead trick (if your from the valley you know what I'm talking about). Well of course he refused. So the second time around of this not regular diarrhea he decided to stay in the bathtub and play. Few minutes later he calls out mom I want to eat a banana in the bathtub. So there he sits.. eating a banana in the bathtub. ... sorry no pics this time (although that is probably a good thing considering I am the mom who took a picture of my kids placenta- and yes its disgusting but everytime time I tell someone I did that they gross out and a few minutes later they're asking to see it).
Well maybe this post is the reason why it took me so long to start a blog.. now you see what I blog about?!?! oh well such is the life of a mom.
HOpe your day is not as stinky! :)

Dog Days...

For those who have more than one child, you know that each one's personality is different from the other. I have 3 boys Nicholas who is 8 Benjamin(Benny) who is 6 and Zachary(Zachy) who is 2. And! each definately have totally different personalities. I never imagined when we agreed to let our older boys get a dog they too would have different personalities (they are both beagles). We told Nicholas he could get a dog when he turned 10, he begged everyday for a dog and we finally gave in and got him a dog about 6 months ago. We drove to Brownsville to pick her up - she was a tiny little thing and we instantly fell in love. In a house full of boys, we named her "Sister". She loved the boys and cried (I'm sure every puppy does) when she could not sleep right next to Nicholas or Benny. So a few weeks later Benjamin of course wanted his own dog. Once again being dog lovers, we agreed and bought him a beagle as well - another girl.. of course! Her name is "Cha-Cha" short for muchacha :). So 6 months later, I find it quite strange that each dog matches its "owners" personality. Sister is very submissive, she knows when she is suppose to obey and knows when to be silly. She walks on a leash perfect and sits when ever we stop walking. She learns quickly and obeys excellent. She is a calm dog who likes to lay around and just be loved on. That is Nicholas - except we don't put him on a leash haha.. but I'm sure you get the point. Now "Cha-Cha" on the other hand is a super silly dog. She loves to just run-she never comes when she is called -she loves to just play and doesn't know when to stop. She makes you laugh by doing such crazy things. She always looks like she has a smile on her face and just like Benny hates to take pictures haha and when she does she looks the other way. It takes many tries to finally get a good one. That is Benny exactly. This evening we played outside - it was such nice weather prob. about 80 something - yes thats nice to us Rio Grand Valleyans. So I decided it would be nice to get some pictures of the boys and their dogs.... here they are :)

Gee Wizz

Elmo was so happy to pose for a shot as I tried out my new lights. So what 3-4 blogs later I am still here wide awake at 1:14 in the morning. I though I said I didn't have anything to write about hmm.. looks like its all been bundled up just waiting to get out. I hate when I get ideas late at night and I am not satisfied until I have played, written and drawn them out all in my mind on paper or searched and researched them on the internet...this time it is fonts I am bound and determined to find this certain font download it and use it over and over again until I want to throw up if I ever see it again! Also thinking of having a super swell sale on photography sessions.. stay tuned lots of savings in store...

That was Fun!

My latest shoot was a lot of fun. An engagement ha still stuck on that last blog A GRADUATION! (ok that would have been really weird.. an engagement shoot) shoot including both mother and daughter. The mom had graduated from college and her daughter was graduating from pre-school. Such a great family! We had a lot of fun! I'll have to take off those proofs and repost.. sorry.

Pretend Engagement Shoot

I have been wanting to try out engagement shots however I don't know anyone who is engaged soo I asked my sister in law and her b/f to pose for me. I was a little nervous even though it was my sister in law because I had never done these types of shots before. But, I have to say it was a lot of fun. It was nice to have people I felt confortable with and they did what I would ask (as well as give ideas) without having to give them a lollipop or buy them a GI Joe if they posed in a certain way so I could take their picture. I think we all had fun and I have new ideas in my bag o’ tricks.
Here are a few from the photo session:

A blog?

I have been wanting to start a blog for a long time now but I never really had anything to write about. I'd start writing then I'd think to myself what in the world did I just write - that was dumb and I'd erase it and delete my blog account. I was searching the internet for different photography ideas and came across a really cool blog - her words were so catchy and creative- She wrote about photography her clients, ideas and laughter. Which encouraged me to do try and do the same, and thus the begining of my photography blog. So here you are and here I write. I have so many cool ideas in my head but wonder if they will come out looking the way they do in my head as they will in a photograph.
